Dear Visitors,
How’ve you been? The Covid Lockdown has been hard on all of us in different measures. However, we must do the best we can with what we have – and I had these drawing pens threatening to go dry on me.
So I present to you this portrait of an Indian woman. She belongs to the Dhaneta Jat tribe from the Gujarat region of India. When the women of the tribe get married, they start wearing a heavy gold nose-ring in their left nostrils. This nose-ring is so heavy that it must be supported with black threads that’s tied to their hair. This ring identifies them as married women of the Dhaneta Jat tribe. The choker is of silver, and this particular design with a cube in the middle, too is specific to this tribe.
That’s all for now. If you like my work, feel free to connect with me on my email id or leave a comment here. It will keep me inspired 🙂
